Oomph. That’s a Malty IPA – Abita Jockamo IPA

February 28, 2013

Considering I just had an Alpine Spring from Sam Adams yesterday, a light, crisp, citrus-y lager, maybe I was shell shocked when I had a sip of this Abita beer.

It has a malty and somewhat lemon slash citrus like scent to it.  It’s copper colored. And, when you take the sip the hop is a bit overwhelmed by malt and some more residual malt.

If that’s the kind of beer you like, then score.  But, for me, wasn’t my fancy.
